Dodged a Bullet

I’m so glad I didn’t put down any more real money. I was down to the final two at a play-money sit and go and I got disconnected. How pissed would I have been?


But I’m sure the guy who I was playing at the time of my disconnection is even more pissed. He’ll have to sit there and blind me down out of the game. I am laughing out loud, ‘cause that guy was a douche!

Back on the Horse

I got an e-mail from PartyPoker.com offering me $20 in real money to play on their site. Of course I had to play through all $20 but I got to keep whatever I won. After blowing through the $20 in 4 single-table sit and goes I am now up to $53!!

I have just enough to cash out (you have to have a minimum of $50 to transfer money to your checking account.) I’m itching to play just…one….more…game, but if I lose I won’t have enough to cash out and l know myself well enough to realize that I’ll just keep playing ‘til I get up to $50 and ultimately lose all my money. That’s how I roll.

Skatetown USA

I bought a pair of roller skates. Not blades, but the old-school, four-on-the-floor roller skates. They are black with purple wheels and I'm 30..............WEEEEEE!!!

I took them out for a test drive this morning before work. I did laps around the basketball court in the park that’s down the street from my house. I only fell once and it wasn't a full-on fall, it was more of a half split with me clutching the fence.

All-in-all it was a positive first step (or skate as the case may be) back into roller skating. I was a little worried at first though. As soon as I stood up on them I thought, "What the fuck am I doing??" But it all came back to me: All those childhood roller skating parties and doing figure eights on the concrete floor in Jessica Polich's basement. Of course now when/if I fall it will be a longer distance to the ground, it will take me longer to get up and I don't have my mom there to kiss any resulting ouchie and make it all better.

Pregnant again?

I hope this is a wake up for all those scientists and doctors out there to finally step up and invent something that can stop or somehow prevent conception. Like a way to keep the sperm away from the egg, or keep the egg from hanging out in the Ut (that's what kids are calling the uterus these days).

Until then I guess we'll have to keep seeing Britney have babies to drop on their heads.

I Demand a Recount

The boyfriend is already way better at Guitar Hero than I. I think he's been playing it behind my back.

Throwing the Goats

So I haven’t blogged in forever. I’m sure sometime in the future I’ll be able to share what’s been going on in LeanaLand over the past couple weeks, but I really don’t have the energy, strength or nerve to at this time.

Today I gave the boyfriend his birthday gift early. I had been planning on getting him PlayStation 2's Guitar Hero, which he’s been yammering about. His birthday isn’t ‘til the end of the month so I hadn’t gone and picked it up.

So this morning he announces, “I’m going to spend money today. I’m going to get Guitar Hero.”

Doh! I try to talk him out of it, tell him to save his money, but he was determined.

So we go to Best Buy and they have a whole pile of them right inside the entrance. A pile of guitars and a display console with two guitars set up and shockingly, no children crowded around it.

We both picked up an axe (that’s slang for guitar you know) and started rockin’ out. It took a couple minutes to figure it out but after a round of “I Wanna Be Sedated” and “I Love Rock-n-Roll” we were both hooked.

So he’s setting it up right now. I’m sure the rest of our Sunday will be devoted to mastering the guitar. I’ve already named my guitar Betty Sue and have adorned it with My Little Pony stickers. Rock and Roll!!!!!!!!
